Grand Rapids police believe Jeffrey Mathews, 60, was the unintended victim of a shooting that took place around 2:30 am, September 8, 2019, on the 1000 block of Clancy Ave. NE. Police believe there was a large crowd in the area prior to the shooting and sadly, there may be witnesses that have not come forward.
